These Winged Liberty Dime Earrings are reminiscent of the Harvey House era of early “Railroad Jewelry” produced by Native American artists in the early 1900’s. Artists used coins to make jewelry because raw silver was not readily available.
These coins are set in silver fashioned in the file and chisel method. Phyllis Smith specializes in this type of silver work. She creates beautiful designs that compliment the coins or stones she is working with. Her hallmark, PA Smith, is stamped into the back of the earrings.
